Autocorrection of motion corruption in 3D time-of-flight MR angiograms of the circle of Willis

چکیده
Introduction Patient motion in high resolution in time-of-flight (ToF) MR angiography (MRA) results in blurring and signal loss. Autocorrection is an iterative, retrospective algorithm that has been shown to be useful in correcting motion artifacts induced by translational motion in high-resolution shoulder MR images [1]. The purpose of this paper is to report on the application of autocorrection techniques to reduce motion induced artifacts in 3D ToF MR angiograms.

Relationship between circle of Willis morphology on 3D time-of-flight MR angiograms and transient ischemia during vascular clamping of the internal carotid artery during carotid endarterectomy.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE A potential source of complication at carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is cerebral ischemia caused by hypoperfusion during clamping of the carotid artery. Configuration of primary collateral pathways may be a major risk factor for development of transient cerebral ischemia during clamping. We investigated whether circle of Willis morphology on 3D time-of-flight (TOF) MR angio...
متن کاملAssessment of the collateral function of the circle of Willis: three-dimensional time-of-flight MR angiography compared with transcranial color-coded duplex sonography.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Identification of the intracranial collaterals assists in identifying patients with severe occlusive disease of the internal carotid arteries who are at lower risk of transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) and stroke. We investigated the usefulness of MR angiography in identifying functional collaterals of the circle of Willis. METHODS MR angiography of the circle of Willis ...

ABSTRACT Anatomical variations have great importance among various medical disciplins. The significance of these variations differ from some points of view including system, site and degree of variation. Vascular system is a common site of variations. The importance of this system in supplying the organs, specially the brain has made it to be in focus for its variations. The main sourc...
متن کاملAnatomical Variations of Circle of Willis in 57 Human Brains
Purpose: The circle of willis is responsible for blood supply of brain, which may suffer from anatomical variations. These disturbances can lead to aneurysm or even arterial rupture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anatomical structure of the cerebral arteries forming the circle of willis in adult cadavers. Also, cerebral versus non- cerebral versus non-cerebral arterial walls wer...
متن کاملVariations of the Circle of Willis in 100 Cadavers in Kerman Province
Background & Aims: The relationship between variations of Willis circle and some cerebrovascular diseases has been shown in previous studies. A few studies have been conducted in Iran on these variations. Methods: This study was performed on 100 recently deceased Iranians due to car accidents who had been referred to Kerman Forensic Medicine Center for autopsy. The length and diameter of cerebr...
